Short Bio
Sugata Bhattacharjee, Doctor of Audiology, is a Hearing Healthcare Consultant based out of New Hampshire, USA. He is the Director of Clinical Services at Hearing Center of Southern Connecticut.
He is an Editorial Advisory Board member “The Hearing Review Journal” and affiliated with Starkey Laboratories.
Dr. Bhattacharjee is known for his passion for Hearing aids, Hearables, In-Ear-Monitors, and other broadcasting gadgets. He has completed over 7,500 successful patient fittings with hearing aids and thousands of hours of diagnostic Audiology. He started working in the field of Audiology since May 3rd, 1993 making this year his 28th year in this profession.

Dr. Bhattacharjee is a Fellow at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and he also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from American Speech Language and Hearing Association, he holds various state licenses of United States. He is a Life member of Indian Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Early Life and Education
Born in Agartala a northeastern state capital of India, his father worked for Customs and Central Excise and his mother taught literature and later retired as a Principal of a high school.

Sugata studied at St. Paul’s School to complete his Indian Certificate of Secondary Education exam and later he completed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam from Hindi High School.

He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, India in 1993.

In 2008, he became the first student of Indian origin to complete an in-person Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Dr. Bhattacharjee is trained by Dr. Charles Berlin and Dr. Linda Hood on diagnosis and management of Auditory Neuropathy/Dys-Synchrony at Kresge Hearing Research Laboratory at Louisiana State University-New Orleans.

Dr. Bhattacharjee is trained at Bionic Ear Institute, Melbourne Australia on evaluation, candidacy, assessment, and rehabilitation of Cochlear Implant recipients.

As a student he worked with Dr. Richard Freyman and Dr. Karen Helfer at UMass Psychoacoustics Lab.

Humanitarian Work

Sugata believes in giving back to the society and volunteered with Starkey Hearing Foundation participating at over 65 humanitarian missions providing hearing help to over 100,000 hard of hearing children.

Passion

Dr. Bhattacharjee is a huge fan of Cricket and Music and is hugely popular with the Cricket Broadcasting community and the performing artists of Indian Music. He says he is blessed to have touched the ears of Cricketing legends and Music superstars. He worked with International Cricket Council (ICC) during the 2019 World Cup.

Personal Life

Dr. Bhattacharjee is married to Harneesh Bhattacharjee, a Speech Language Pathologist, and is blessed with two daughters, Mahima and Molly, and the family dog Mars. He is a huge foodie and enjoys trying authentic Indian food.
